AI Generated Music
Along with an influx of text to image generators including MidJourney, DALL-E, Firefly, Craiyon, Stable Diffusion to name just a few, generative AI is also being applied for music production including. Some examples include Soundraw, Junia and MusicGenerate with a growing number of application releases every month. We tested a few options, but found that the best outcome for our purposes was Google’s MusicFX - a text-to-audio generator available via Google’s AI Test Kitchen. It was our pick due to the ease of use and ability to output longer tracks (up to 70 seconds) that can be seamlessly looped.
MusicFX also offered surprisingly good outputs for our desired music style of ‘elevator music’ with the most suitable outputs responding to the prompt: “Chilled contemporary elevator music played in a waiting room while waiting on the future promise and implications of AI”.
